Our Community Sites
The St. Louis Canvass Project will be located at four sites throughout the St. Louis region.
The dates are:
- October 27
- November 17
- December 15
- January 26
- February 23
- March 16
- April 27
- May 18
Each site was chosen as a result of relationships with a strong community partner which supports the project by meeting the following criteria: accessible to public transportation; offers a safe and clean environment that is welcoming to young people; trained staff on board who value young people; and a commitment to making the arts more available to young people of all backgrounds and abilities.
Middle school students can actively sign up to participate in the Canvass Project at the first three sites. Jazz St. Louis in Grand Center, which is already full and no longer accepting students. Space is limited at all four locations, so apply today!

Beyond Housing is a comprehensive community development organization that helps communities become better places to live. By strengthening communities, they empower the people and families who call their community home. Beyond Housing has focused much of their work on the Normandy Schools Collaborative area in North County. The St. Louis Canvass Project will be hosted in their Headquarters in Pine Lawn.

The Intersect Arts Center is a place of community with creativity at its core. Through after-school programming, community events and classes, exhibitions, artist residencies, and studio facilities, they offer many opportunities for engagement. Their interdisciplinary approach encompasses visual art, dance, drama, music, creative writing, technology, photography, and culinary arts. The St. Louis Canvass Project will be hosted at their location in the Gravois Park neighborhood of South St. Louis City.

St. Louis ArtWorks broadens educational and career opportunities for youth in the St. Louis Region through apprenticeships in the arts and through community collaborations. The organization’s goal is to create positive educational opportunities through art for youth through paid apprenticeships. The St. Louis Canvass Project will be hosted at their location just down the street from the Delmar Loop.

For more than 20 years, Jazz St. Louis has been the foremost presenter of jazz in St. Louis and throughout the region, as well as being a leader in preserving the legacy of this musical genre. Jazz St. Louis has education programs aimed at elementary, middle and high school students. The St. Louis Canvass Project will be hosted at their location in Grand Center. This site is at capacity and is not accepting any new students for the St. Louis Canvass Project currently.
