Wells Fargo Advisors and the Regional Arts Commission, two prominent private and public arts funders in the region make the St Louis Canvass Project possible. Together, the two funding partners are investing more than $1 million over four years in the development of the program which will provide creative enrichment opportunities for more than 120 middle school students; employment and professional development to 8 professional artists; and greater visibility to arts organizations and groups seeking to connect to the students participating in the program.

The St Louis Canvass Project curriculum has been developed through the engagement of two primary program partners: Springboard to Learning and FOCUS St Louis.
SPRINGBOARD TO LEARNING
Springboard to Learning has a combined history of over 110 years in arts education. Springboard believes that meaningful, memorable learning experiences transform a child’s worldview. This belief fuels its mission to develop children’s abilities to think critically, create, collaborate and communicate. Springboard programs are delivered through teaching artists with expertise in dance, music, performing arts, visual arts, puppetry, design thinking
Springboard annually serves approximately 50,000 metro-area students, Pre-K through 8th grade. In addition to educating children, Springboard supports the professional development of classroom teachers and teaching artists who desire to grow in their practice of arts-integration. Springboard is an affiliate of the national organizations of Young Audiences Arts for Learning and Wolf Trap, which provides early childhood programming and teacher professional development. MARGIE REESE AND ASSOCIATES
Margie Johnson Reese formed MJR Partners, LLC in 2010, and provides professional arts management services and guidance to communities for planning, stabilizing and implementing inclusive public policy. Clients have engaged their services to assist in stimulating strategic partnerships between the cultural sector and government agencies, foundations, corporations, and academic institutions to advance cultural understanding.

Focus St. Louis
FOCUS St Louis is the region’s premier leadership organization, preparing diverse leaders to work cooperatively for a thriving St Louis region. FOCUS offers a continuum of programs to meet participants where they are and prepare them to take the next step in their civic leadership journey. FOCUS’ programs challenge leaders to think critically, to collaborate across divisions and to see the region through new eyes.
FOCUS St Louis was invited to partner with the St Louis Canvass Project because of its experience with youth leadership programs that have a track record of success. Founded in 1989, FOCUS St Louis’ Youth Leadership St Louis (YLSL) is an internationally recognized program that informs, connects, prepares and empowers St Louis area youth to become civic and community leaders.
